I have created this blog to share my travel experiences with
you. We will travel together and see as many places as we
can. So sit back and enjoy.
Basilica Maria della Salute in Venice, Italy, at dusk. It was built during the
17th century after a terrible epidemic of plaque swept through most of
the Venetian population. It was dedicated to the Virgin Mary in gratitude
for the deliverance from the plague. It stands at the top of a flight of
stairs, where you can sit and look at the Grand Canal and Doge’s
Palace across the bank. It’s Baroque and Byzantine styles and superb
paintings by the Venetian Masters, Tintoretto and Titian, make this
the most beautiful church in Venice.
Cool!
Great job Nancy !!!
